Chiropractic care
Rockhampton Chiropractic Clinic
Chiropractic is a health care discipline based on the scientific premise that the body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism. These important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves of the body.
The practise of Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine and pelvis) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.
The goal of chiropractic careĀ is to reduce your pain and symptoms, correct poor habits and reduced spinal movement. As well as offering you long term solutions through proper maintenance that is tailored to your individual needs.
Many people discover that chiropractic care may do a lot more than just treat their current ailments. Regular visits may help you to maintain a fuller range of movement and ensure you achieve your health goals.
Corrective Care
The corrective stage of care is aimed at providing ways to correct the long-term habits which may have caused your initial symptoms. Symptoms can include nerve irritation, leading to pain, stiffness, fatigue and general ill health. Chiropractors are trained to investigate these symptoms using a wide variety of diagnostic tools and methods.
Chiropractors use a combination of hands-on physical therapy (called adjusting) and exercises, to mobilise joints and improve your posture. This has the effect of reducing pain, fatigue and injuries.
We work with you to retrain your spinal movements to a more fluid and natural action to avoid returning to poor spinal and joint health. The time and level of treatment needed is dependent on the individual conditions and circumstances of each patient. We ensure to measure your progress regularly and make any adjustments necessary to your treatment.
Symptomatic Care
We aim to reduce your symptoms and pain in the fastest and most effective way possible. As the most intensive stage, we focus on restoring your joint function and reducing any inflammation.
We provide patient-centred care. Shared decision making through informed consent and using communication strategies that are tailored to the needs and preferences of the patient are part of this process. This includes referral to other healthcare providers when indicated to ensure the best and most appropriate treatment and health outcome. Our patients’ well-being is our priority.
